For those of you who aren't afraid to take a trend and run with it, the velvet jumpsuit is for you. I absolutely love this burgundy stunner, especially since I was able to find a way to make the deep and sexy neckline a little more truelane-friendly by adding a smart button-up underneath. I think the bow adds a sweet touch to the look, while the heels are made for a little higher society than my last two Valentine's Day inspired looks. However, if a freakum dress is more your February 14 style, Lulus still has you covered in the velvet department.

With Valentine's Day looming on the horizon, half of us are singles and not headed out on a romantic dinner date. I wanted to create a tougher, sassier look for those of us going out with girlfriends or hitting a singles party on February 14—so here it is. If velvet shoes are not your jam, an easy way to wear the velvet trend is with a clutch. Clutches are meant to make a statement, and this luxe olive chevron pattern does just that without overpowering the look. I went a step further and paired this casual tee and jacket with velvet jeans, but it all depends on your level of comfort with this fancy fabric. For me, the more the merrier, which makes Lulus a one stop shop for Valentine's Day velvet—they have over 200 velvet pieces on the site right now.

Stay tuned to see which one I'll be styling next week!

Velvet has been such a big trend lately that I wanted to spend a few posts talking about different ways to wear it, especially for those who might be hesitant. It's a weird fabric and texture, but it does seem to land on the romantic and luxurious end of the scale, which is why it makes perfect sense for looks in the month of love. I tapped Lulus to help me put together three different Valentine's Day looks, and I'm bringing you the first today.

I've never been especially pink or red or lovey-dovey on Valentine's Day, which is why I paired these adorable pink velvet loafers with a deeper toned chunky sweater. The boyfriend jeans also help offset the girliness of the shoes while keeping things casual and comfy for Valentine's Day errands and coffee.
