I loved this classic-with-a-casual twist I wore for exploring the magnificent and stately Palace of Versailles—our last day trip in Europe. Although it was toward the beginning of our time in France, we were already completely drained from our last three weeks of traveling the globe, and every step at Versailles felt like muscle strain. We wandered 8 miles that day through the halls and the rooms and the gardens and train stations all the way back home, filled with awe and exhaustion which made for an incredibly powerful experience inside and out. Perhaps you can sense how tired I am in that last snap. It's beautifully framed by my girl Alex, but definitely has that underlying air of "I need to be off my feet." Putting on airs at the Palace of Versailles. It only seems appropriate.

I love how Alex captured the essence of this outfit through details—although this shoot was really just to buy us time waiting to say hi to Caroline de Maigret and our actual outfit photos didn't turn out, but that makes me love these snaps even more. Aloha Cafe was in the heart of Pigalle, Caroline's little neighborhood home, so it was quite surreal seeing her in the middle of her natural habitat on my first trip to Paris.

This was one of my more fashion-forward fashion week outfits, what with the stars and the sunnies and the scarf, and I ended up changing halfway through the day because after awhile I was tired of dressing up. You know me—always pretending to be a fashion blogger. Wink.

Skip A Wash

Last year, I skipped out on making New Year’s resolutions. I've already made a few for 2017, so this year I'm skipping out on something else: washing my hair! I partnered with Dove for the Dove Hair #SkipAWash Challenge. I'm a dry shampoo fanatic and use it almost every day. Dove just released a new line of dry shampoo, and after trying it, I want to see if you guys are down to #SkipAWash and reach for dry shampoo instead!

I snapped a few photos showing you my standard application process for aerosol dry shampoo: I start with a dramatic side part and apply the dry shampoo there to give the underside of my hair some lift and volume. Next, I massage it in with my fingers to help absorb the natural oils that develop in the days after a hair wash. Finally, I comb or brush it out to make sure the product is dispersed evenly.

If I'm going out, whether it's to coffee or to a New Year's Eve party, I like to add a little extra touch—today, I went with a simple twist on either side of my center part for a quick, bohemian-inspired half-up do.

If you have never tried to #SkipAWash, I highly recommend it giving it a go. Less washing is better for your hair, saves you time, and Dove's dry shampoo even works as a sweet-smelling hair perfume. What could be better?

Thank you to Dove for sponsoring this post.
