I've been in such a rosy mood this year, which is odd, because roses have always been my least favorite flower. I always thought they were too elegant, too stuffy, too mushy and too smelly. I've grown fond of flower scents as I've gotten older (now I understand why grannies buy floral everything), and ever since I discovered the more wild and untamed garden rose variety, I'm all the way on board. It's only appropriate that I should be wearing them now.

Doesn't someone always seem to be talking about Paris? Dreaming about being there, planning a trip there, or actually being there and posting the most envy-inducing content an Instagrammer could post. Once in awhile, I'll don an outfit that makes me feel like I should be able to just pick myself up and insert myself onto the Champs-Élysées taking a rainy day stroll towards the Eiffel Tower.

A few new pieces I've picked up from French brand Sézane seem to do that for me. Dainty textures, tasteful prints, elegant silhouettes, and dreamy knits are just a few elements that set Sézane apart from the noisy mass of fast fashion that hounds us here in the States. Combining this decidedly feminine top with a structured trench coat and menswear-inspired shoes helped me transpose that effortless Parisian look for Seattle streets. If you're lucky enough to be in Paris or New York, you can visit Sézane in-store. For the rest of us, they offer free express shipping to the U.S. if you spend $200, which—trust me—you'll want to.

Lucky Brand top  |  Gap denim  |  Frye boots  c/o Zappos  |  Fossil handbag  |  Abercrombie jacket  |  Ray-Ban sunglasses

Frye boots were made for walkin’—no doubt about that. We’re just getting to the time of year where I don’t want even an inch of my skin showing due to cold rain and icy winds, and that’s where a good pair of boots comes in. I like that these are a little higher than ankle boots with not too high of a heel, and since I wear so many earth tones the hunter green fits right in with the rest of my wardrobe. And really, right in with the evergreen state of Washington. You could say I’ve found my place.
