Winter Skincare

This winter, I've added a few products by Yon-Ka Paris to my skincare routine. Clay-formula masks are my favorite, so this weekly clarifying masque is the perfect treat for tired skin. I have also been using their Creme 40 for discoloration after a bad breakout last year left me with some tragic scarring. After being on a strict skincare regimen for the last year per my dermatologist, it's been nice to bring in some new products now that my skin is back on track. Yon-ka's Creme PG is also a great mattifying product for oily skin!

Once my skin is taken care of, adding a few brightening products to my makeup routine makes it feel like spring is coming sooner rather than later. I'm loving this sheer coral/orange lipstick and posy pink blush by Paul and Joe Beauty to add some color to my everyday look. Another favorite is this highlighting crayon by Chella that I received in a recent Birchbox. It concentrates beautifully to highlight the inner eye corner, or you can sheer it out on your cheeks for a lovely, dewy glow. These products have been my saving grace through this harsh Minnesota winter!

Spring Beauty Picks

Today, I thought I would share a few things that have been on repeat in my beauty routine. When you find something you love, you want to share!

Okay, Smith's Rosebud Salve is a constant all year round, but I love the light rose shade for springy, sunshine-y days. I have been keeping Maybelline's The Rocket mascara on hand to hold a curl for 12+ hours (the waterproof version), and their Color Tattoo in Barely Branded as the perfect inner corner highlight. I've been wanting a pretty designer compact for awhile, and finally decided on Chanel's Double Perfection Lumière long-wear powder. It has already gotten lots of love and use!

I finally got my hands on Urban Decay's

Naked Basics

palette, and have to say that Foxy and Naked 2 have already paid for themselves as part of my everyday neutral eye. The shadows are so velvety, and the small size of the palette is so convenient.

I'll leave the spotlight on my newest love: a bright lip color. Revlon's lip butters are my formula of choice, and after I picked up the shade Sweet Tart on sale at Ulta, it has already become my go-to for spring! I'm wearing it in my last outfit post and love the bright pink tone.

Also, exciting news! I played model a few weeks ago in a photoshoot for Verily Magazine. The June/July issue won't be out for a bit, but their brand new website launched today with a feature and photoshoot-preview on yours truly! Check it out here and let me know what you think!

Au Natural

It's been awhile since posted about my Birchbox, but I was enamored with the selection this month that I had to share with you all.

One of my favorite things about Birchbox is their green initiative, and I was so excited this month to be sent products completely inspired by nature.

One of my favorite things to get in my monthly Birchbox is perfume samples. This month, it was Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift which was better than I expected. The packaging of this dry shampoo sample by Lulu Organics is gorgeous, and Zoya has become one of my favorite nail polish brands--love this muted, green-blue!

I've seen the Yes to Blueberries facial towelettes around drugstores lately and was so excited to get eight of them in a travel pack. The Befine food skin care packets include an exfoliating moisturizer and a rice-based SPF moisturizer. This is a brand I've heard a lot about and can't wait to try!

However, natural products run deeper than the surface. You're probably familiar with term 'blood diamonds' as something to be avoided. Ingle & Rhode, a British jewelry company, have constructed a great flyer to keep us ladies (and gents!) informed about our fine jewelry purchases before we make them. Thanks to The Emerald Closet for sharing this graphic with me! Hope you guys have a great Wednesday--and sign up for Birchbox!
