In today’s Internet world of YouTube celebrity and Instagram fame, being genuine is one of the more important qualities to possess. Because so much content revolves around the beauty and fashion industry, it can be easy to get swept up in the pressure to be perfect—sometimes even superficial.

Get back to feeling naturally beautiful with three tips for creating a sense of style that you actually like and staying true to no one but yourself.

1. Give yourself grace.

Natural beauty begins with taking care of yourself, and the rumors are true: It starts on the inside. Think and talk to yourself positively, as if you were encouraging a friend. No situation is ever improved by negativity.

2. Natural beauty doesn’t have to mean never wearing makeup or painting your nails.

If you were born a blonde but would feel more like yourself with a few highlights as you get older, what’s stopping you? There are so many wonderful natural makeup and hairstyle tutorials on the Internet you’re bound to find one that will enhance the lovely features you already have.

3. Follow your gut wardrobe instinct.

Half of confidence is just committing to your initial idea. If you try on a wide-brimmed hat or a showstopping faux-fur coat, leave the house before you can second-guess yourself. Too often, I purchase pieces I love but am too timid to wear when the time comes. Confidence is a crucial key to natural beauty.

The natural beauty movement is one that has been spreading for the past few years. With the rise of the inescapably omnipresent Internet, sifting through content for real girls with real beauty and real drive to succeed can be more challenging than we think it should be. Don’t forget, you can inspire others by turning the spotlight on your own natural beauty. It’s easy to spot natural beauty when it shines from the inside out.

Strolling through Cabo San Lucas was my first time exploring an actual town/city in Mexico instead of just the beach, and it was everything I pictured. Everyone told me to expect calm and clean, and that’s what it was. Someday I’ll get to experience a grungier side of Mexico (someone take me on a coffee farm tour, please!), but for now, it just felt good to get a slightly more cultural glimpse of life here.

Mexican cuisine is one of my favorite types of food, so I quickly found my heaven in Cabo San Lucas: Edith’s. Under no circumstances should you ever go to Cabo and not eat at Edith’s. Just ask George Clooney. Unfortunately, he wasn’t there when we were, but with 9:45 dinner reservations, we were so hungry we hardly noticed. Subtle hint to call and schedule ahead of time. We started off with the only truly incredible sangria I’ve ever experienced, and ended with the absolute best liquid delicacy that exists on planet Earth: Mexican flaming coffee.

We also checked out Cabo Wabo Cantina for happy hour one day and found it was 2 for 1 margaritas, which means they literally bring you two margaritas when you order, so our table of three was decked out with six full cups. None of us were complaining. Not to be missed: the stuffed mushrooms, and loads of fresh chips and pico de gallo.

I always have an instant attachment to coastal cities. The harbors make me feel at home—I grew up exploring them all along the lakes and oceans in Seattle. I loved strolling the Cabo marina and checking out the boats as they buoyed up and down off the docks. Downtown is also the perfect place to pick up your Mexican wrestling masks or carpet hoodies for your skater bros back home. Handpainted maracas or marionettes are also popular in the shops along the street.

I’d definitely add Cabo San Lucas as a place to travel to again for a perfectly relaxing vacation. It’s easy to get there, it’s easy to get around, and it’s hard to do anything but relax and truly enjoy yourself the Baja way. Let’s just hope Clooney and I are both in town next time.

Now, I’m excited to make my loyalty official as I've been participating in the brand’s three-week #AveenoDailyChallenge: using the Daily Moisturizing Body Wash + Lotion every day for three weeks!

Aveeno is one of those body lotions that you don’t have to think about—I can feel it sink into my skin after using. It’s hydrating without leaving an annoying film or grease behind, it won’t break your bank account, and the results are definitely worth the value. There are usually regular coupons and sales for their products as well, so keep an eye out.

I’d never tried Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Body Wash before the challenge, and my skin felt instantly smoother after showering the very first day. Following with the lotion right after my shower made my skin look and feel even more hydrated. I tend to use a variety of different products and switch up my body wash when I empty a bottle, but this is the simplest and most effective routine in my memory to date.

Aveeno sent over this round of products so I could give you the low-down before you guys try it, but I’ve personally picked up Aveeno products at Target, Walgreens, CVS, and more.
